It's a patch for a bug that Microsoft published with windows.

It's a Windows Update that has been installed on your computer.
They normally have a KB.............. then a number.
Have you done any windows updates lately?
Some are listed in Add/Remove and some are not.

As the word speak by itself. Hotfix is a fix to software. If you experience
problems with your computer, you can do a search for a hotfix at
support.microsoft.com and then call microsft to get the fix sent by email(if
the fix is not available through windows update)
