Didn't mean to get everyone confused, but that is because I am confused.
This is exactly what happens.... I believe I was going to get set up with
windows mail. Now, I have the "All identies have already been imported or
deleted screen, but now when I put cancel I get "The Identity Import has not
been performed yet. Are you sure you want to exit the wizard?" Okay, this
time it cleared out. What I really got on to do was to set up an
autoresponder.
I have not set up my account yet. I got caught up in whatever and now am
nowhere. I don't even know how to begin. I have not entered in anything
about my email.

If you go to the files menu and click on identities, this is when the prompts
come up for importing them. I have been getting the same screen as mentioned
here. All identities have been deleted or imported, etc. as stated by
Dorothy and Toto. I did set up a second account and followed all the
information correctly, only to continue to receive the messages about
importing identities again. I cannot close out without being told the
identities were not imported even after I selected the import all selection.
This is very confusing.

I repeat:
What are you doing to get the message? Is it when OE opens? Closes?
If you are getting it by clicking File | Identities, don't do that.

Microsoft plain and simple, ripped you off. Get XP while you still can. I
have a dual boot system, XP is the only OS I will be using. Vista is
shovelware, microsoft shovels it out the door to unsupecting PC buyers. Apple
will clean microsofts clock. Vista can't compete with a real OS. It's trash!!! >> Stay informed about: Identities or Multiple e-mail accounts |

Since millions are using it successfully, failure says more about the operator
than the operating system.

I happen to have it set up. It's just that it's so moronic. It is anything
but intuitive, it couldn't be more confusing. And why is it that way? Just
for the "Hell of it?" Or is some simple minded security "feature?" It
probably is microsofts way of making it "easy to use." Like I said microsoft
will keep "ungrading" until their is no functionality left. As an example
you can't copy/paste an email address anymore. That just makes things harder,
NOT easier. They are morons! >> Stay informed about: Identities or Multiple e-mail accounts |

Why would you need to copy an email address? Just start a new message, click on TO and select the recipient.

Windows Mail does not have the identities feature.
For ultimate privacy, you would need to use two separate Windows
user login accounts.
If privacy is not an issue, both mail accounts can be set up under
one Windows user. By default, all incoming mail will go into a
common inbox, but that is easily changed with message rules.
