windows xp pro taking over

16bit Windows Subsystem error msg - I have several 16 and 32bit Windows programs that have been running under XPHome fine for the last couple months. I did an SP2 update a couple weeks ago, but the computer froze up with it, so I it. Now I am suddenly getting a 16bit Windows..

c:\windows\system32\eaoa\pdcc.exe - I have Spyware that is telling me that it has found this file in error. Is this a bug that has attached itself here??? Or is this a normal Windows file??? I cannot delete the file because it is active when Windows starts. So how do I delete it??? Any

Windows ME restore troubles - I had to use my HP restore disks to do a majore restore. Now when I try to rework my way through Windows ME for the time, and I come the the Licence Agreement page, the blue pane to the left of the screen is too wide and obscures the radio button..

Bug in Windows Explorer Date of File not shown for old files - For my picture albums I am setting the dates of the files to the date when the picture was taken. As I have pictures from the 1970ies I can even set the the date with some public tools In the view of the file the date..

my partners laptop is running xp pro. it has a 40Gb hard drive of wich 32 Gb is taken up by the windows folder. upon investigation the system32 folder is 22Gb. the program folder is only 2 Gb with only a handful of programmes. does anybody know whats going on and or a solution? thanks

Thats alot of space, my system32 folder is only 1GB, you should find out what files and directorys in the system32 folder are taking up that space, you will then have to decide if it's safe to delete.

Thanks for your reply. I looked and found that the machine had come pre loaded with everything imaginable filling the hard drive. as she did not have a lot of data or programmes on the computor I started a fresh and formatted the drive. aftr re installing everything she needs the system 32 folder is less than 700M. alls well but thanks.
