xp home ou must do this: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_home_sectab.htm

When using pro you must open folder options go to view and turn off "Use simple file sharing"

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

Assuming you're reffering to the Security tab, for XP Pro, in Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View. Scroll down and uncheck Use Simple File Sharing.

For XP Home, the Security tab can only be accessed in Safe Mode.
