When I open up the "Control Panel" and choose "Add Hardware", I am now
getting the following message - "cannot run 2 device installations - you can
install only one device at a time - Another device installation is underway -
when it is finished, you can try this wizard again..."

I cannot get rid of this message - I have rebooted my laptop (a Dell
Latitude C640 running on Microsoft XP Professional, Version 2002 - Service
Pack 3) and I am still getting this same message. The only device I have
installed is a MagicJack (to make phone calls from my computer) and it works
(I still have one problem with it, you are supposed to be able to use a
telephone or a headset with it, and right now, I can only use a headset).

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can figure out why the Add
Hardware program keeps giving me this message that "another installation is
currently underway"??? And what can I do to fix it?

Thanks so much for your help!!!

DEL c:/temp/*.*
and DEL c:/windows/temp/*.*
and reboot.
The error message told you an incomplete HW installation
process was in process. These two folders are where
temporary installation files are created (scheduled for deletion
on completion but your process has not completed.) So the
likeliest way to end this cycle is to DELete all files.
