Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing in Services gives error 1068
"Dependency services or group failed to start". Could not start Event Log in
service "Error 193: Oxc1" Noticed I couldn't check if my Firewall was
working correctly, Norton's Antivirus 2006 could not update, upgrade or
reinstall. Is there an answer to all these issues? "System Recovered from a
Serious Error" a month ago. Had no Help & Support Center then and was adviced
to install C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf Seemed to work but now all this other
stuff is happening. Suggestions?

Sounds like you are another victim of Norton software. Personally I would
dump Norton. Unfortunately the uninstall routine doesn't remove all traces
of Norton. You will find information on Symantec's website on how to do
this.

I agree, I am not happy with Norton. Thanks for your answer.

I had used the Norton Removal tool from Symantic website. I think it is
gone but I can't reinstall it.

When I try to check the fire wall or use Adminstrative Tools they don't work
or can't be started. "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
Service can't start.

Ok, after 4 hours on the phone with Microsoft my Windows XP was repaired.
Service Pack 2 was reinstalled and perhaps had not been installed after but
before Windows XP. My Firewall was back, Norton's could install everying
seemed fine.

Howeven, now the recycling bin shows no files but acts like they are there.
Help! A ll the problems have seemed connected but Tech Support address them
one by one or not at all and it has been two months of Windows XP problems,
starting with the "Windows has encountered a serious problem" blue screen of
death. What's a person suposet to do?
