Got this message:
stop:0X0000007E (0XC000005,0X8069B036,0XF8950578,0XF8950274)

Will start in last safe settings, but seems slower than normal.
Friend suggested a use the roll back feature.
Will this work? Any other suggestions?

Will this cause data to be lost? ....Like word document, music or photos.

Forgive the ignorance...not that great with computer problems..

Any help would be appreciated.

You should be proud that you're "not that great with computer problems"
- it means you don't get many. Wink

0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x7e

"There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including
hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or
some software issues. Check Event Viewer (EventVwr.msc) for additional
information."

With error messages it's never a good idea to 'try this and see what
happens'. You're better off diagnosing and addressing the underlying cause.

To add to what Leonard Grey has already suggested, I thought
I'd point out a couple of things. First, the "roll back
feature" your friend suggested was probably System Restore.
System Restore will not make any changes to files you created
such as Word docs, music, and photos. For more info on System
Restore, take a look at this web site.

That said, you should always have backup copies of any files
you cannot afford to lose. If you haven't done so already, I
would strongly suggest that you back up all your personal files
to CD's or DVD's before taking any steps to repair your
computer.

As for your problem, a good starting point would be to
determine when the problem first showed up and what if any
changes were made to your system around that time. As has been
pointed out, Event Viewer should be the first place you look.

Good luck
