Blue Screen - Stop Error - unable to add/remove programs

I keep getting a blue screen. It seems like it is when my laptop sits for a
little while or I close lid without shutting down. I have no clue what to
actually look for. I have researched some and I have read that memory may be
bad, bad device driver, etc.
How do I know what driver it could be? I get updates on drivers from the
dell site, is it possible I downloaded the wrong one? How can I find out what
drivers are actually proper for my computer?

Another problem I am having is that when I go into add/remove programs, many
of the programs do not have the option any longer and some if I try to remove
them it does not allow it. A couple examples are Works (I now have Office) so
I would like it gone, it does not give an option, also Active Sync, Adobe
InDesign, Illustrator etc. same thing. WebFldrs XP, TMASOEDL, TMASOLDL (I
don't even have a clue what these last 3 are), Works Suite OS Pack

I hate to have to totally restore my system because some of the software I
have I no longer have the CD's or they were borrowed, etc., some I paid for
one download.

It seems like my system is falling apart! The computer is running super slow
at start up also, takes several minutes just to stabilize so I can connect to
internet.

I had Adobe CS2 installed and it will not let me get rid of all of it.

I know... lots of stuff, just figure that maybe it is related.

Is there any diagnostics that can be done or does this sound like something
I need to contact dell about? I have no clue how their tech support even
works?? I know I have purchased an extended service contract.

Have you backed up your important data files?

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

What is your Windows XP CD as it is described on the face of the CD?

What is your computer make and model? How old is it?

Please post a copy of the Stop Error Report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure even after you have
solved the problem as it's better disabled. Check for variants of the
Stop Error message.

An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during Start-Up and select
option - Disable automatic restart on system failure.

If you are using a wireless keyboard and the F8 key does not work
substitute a wired keyboard and mouse for this exercise only.

Also look for Error Reports in the System log in Event Viewer.
Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No
Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in
a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer.Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.
