Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

Both my CD-Rom Drives were not reading discs unless "Nero" was running in the
background. I went to a help website that told me to edit a few registry
keys that had to do with "upper filter" and "lower filter" settings.

Now, my CD-Rom drives show up as "unknown devices" in the Device manager and
I am STILL unable to read discs.

I tried a system restore, but was told "windows was unable to restore my
computer back to that restore point." WHAT GIVES?

Can someone help me? Thanks in advance.

Ron

See if running this file will help.

You might have to reinstall Nero and any other CD burning software.
