Know its been posted before, but wasn't pertinent to me at the time. How do
you find and save windows updates installed on your PC to other media?
Became pertinent when my hard drive for image files became mangled. Only
images without updates were still there for restoration.

After they've been installed you can't. There are several ways to do this.
One is do not use Automatic Updates, go to the windows update site, do a
custom scan, then look at the KB article or security bulletin for each one
and download each update manually. Save that, then install it.

Another option is download from the windows update catalog.

Can I review my update installation history which has KB article link for
each, use that as reference? I don't want to download/install anything
before the SP2 update as I have the CD and and autostreamed version to the
install CD. Nor do I want to install anything not pertinent to my PC
installation.
There's 64 critical updates, or was it 67. I forget on my PC.

Yes, if it was done through windows update or automatic updates then the
history should be there. That's good source to use.

Security updates are available on ISO-9660 CD image files from the Microsoft Download
Center
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913086

You can also download individual updates from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want, Click
the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the location where you want the
updates saved to and then Click the “Download Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

How to install multiple Windows updates or hotfixes with only one reboot

As updates that were installed automatically from WU are deleted after about 10 days.
You'll have to redownload all updates.
If you want to save them in case of future disasters, see the above.

Phone company hates me. So far, I downloaded the pertinent 8xxxxxKB
updates. Over 60MB. On phone modem. The folder hierarchy is many, many
folders deep after the download. Try downloading just one update to see
what I mean.
