DDE Server not responding

Nass, you are correct I do have outlook and use it for my email and I can not
click on sites in emails because it cause my outlook to freeze. But I have
already did the DDE DSDM manual and it works for a couple times and then back
to the same problems. Any thing else?

Since you didn't mention any thing I will take you have Outlook account that
trying to get E-mails from the server and can't pull the data from Database
and causing this error ad the service didn't start yet or at all:
Open a Run Command and type in:
services.msc click [OK] and on the services window scroll down to Network
DDE and start it manual the same with the Network DDE DSDM also start Manual
( if manual didn't help then make Automatically).

Hi Margie,
Try to be sure all clean from malwares and Viruses by running a scan on line
or by your Anti-Virus application in both Safe Mode and Normal Mode:
1- Scan your computer with online scanner from here:
http://www.sophos.com
http://www.trendmicro.com
And also for malwares from here Update the Definitions for both and run a
scan:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

*Then Open a run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] and on the Registry Editor locate these Keys and see

If the Above didn't help then Try to Run them Automatically by going to
services and start them Auto instead of Manual.

If still no joy try to run this command :
sfc /scannow click [OK] and wait for it and get your XP CD handy you may
be asked/prompted by the Operating system to insert the CD to repair any
corrupt or damaged files/folders found on your system.

Open Windows Explorer and on the Toolbar click Tools >> Folder Options Click
on File Types:
Locate this:
[OE] (NONE) URL:MAILTo Protocol highlight it and click on Advanced button.

On the Edit File Type click on Edit button on the right side.
On the Editing action for type: URL: MailTo Pro be sure the DDE is checked:
Action:
[open ]

Application used t perform action:
["C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"

[√] Use DDE
DDE Message:
[Leave empty ]

You can be sure the reset of Outlook:
News protocol
NNTP Protocol are having the DDE option checked.
