Hi all! I have WinXP SP2 was on the CBS site last evening and clicked on
a link to play a video of one of their stories and got a pop-up telling
me I must choose a default video player to play it. Before I believe I
had gotten pop-up with a listing on what is available on my pc, telling
me to pick which one I want to open this link with. (I have both RealOne
and WMP10)
Is there a way to get this pick one pop-up back, or must I specify a
default? If so, how do I do this?

Thanks; Marty

If you want WMP10 to be the default player go to Tools > Options > File Types
tab.

Make sure all the boxes are checked.

You can do the same in Real Player in Settings or Preferences.

To set Windows Media Player as the default, use the Set Program Access and
Defaults feature in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs applet. Or, type this
command in Start/Run dialog, and press Enter:

C:\WINDOWS\INF\unregmp2.exe /SetWMPAsDefault

Another option is to use the option available within Windows Media Player.
Open WMP, Tools, Options, File types tab. Check all that apply.
