Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>perform_maintain (more info?)

IBM's site:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=intel+%
28R%29+PRO%2f100+VE&uid=psg1MIGR-54046&loc=en_US&cs=utf-
8&cc=us&lang=en

(Document id: MIGR-54046 Last modified: 2004-09-11)

recommends for Windows XP/ NDIS5.1 the version 7.0.28.0
of E100b325.sys driver

while Microsoft's site:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=834481

(Last Reviewed: 2/3/2004 )

talks about upgrading to version 7.1.8.0 of the
E100b325.sys driver from version 7.0.26.0 but does not
mention version 7.0.28.0 ...

So which version is most current: 7.1.8.0 or 7.0.28.0
(the numbering version scheme hints that 7.1.8.0 is more
current but the date of the info on the IBM's creates some
doubts ...)?

Any input on that ?

Use the IBM suggested driver. On my Dell notebook, I always use
Dell's recommended drivers in lieu of Microsoft's suggested drivers
and never have a problem.
