Files taking a long time to open

Hi,
hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. Have
a winxp machine, that I think is having problems with
file types. If you launch a program, then open its
associated file it is fine. But if you double-click on
the file it can take upto a couple of minutes to open the
application and file. At first I thought it was just
officexp, uninstalled cleaned out the registry,
reinstalled office 2003, have put service pack 2 on and
still no difference. It does not matter whether it is
word, excel or notepad. Have run virus programs and ad
aware and still no difference.

You'll get better response if you post this in
appropriate newsgroup. On the left margin expand +
office . Your office 2003 will be there. And post this
there.
