Starting yesterday afternooon, every time I try to print from Outlook
Expressor IE, I get the following error:
Internet Explorer Script Error
Line: 1174
Char: 1
Error: Unspecified Error
Code: 0
Url: res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No

The only thing I can print is a nozzle check on the printer. It will not
even print a test page. When I try to print from Notepad, I get "The handle
is invalid". When trying to print from Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0, I get "A
required resource cannot be loaded".

I have tried all of the following without success:
deleting and reinstalling the printer
running a virus scan (Norton), spyware scans (Spybot S&D, MS Anti-Spyware
Beta (formerly Giant Anti-Spyware)
running Registry Mechanic 4.0
running msconfig and disabling all startup programs
downloading XP SP2 (ful administrator version) and reinstalling SP2
downloading IEFix and running it.
Surfairy is not on my machine.

My desktop, printing to the same printer, has absolutely no problems.

I am running XP Home on Sony VAIO Laptop. Unfortunately, for some reason, I
had System Restore turned off, probably after having to clean somethng up and
forgetting to turn it back on. Also, the laptop did not come with the
original software CD's, only the ability to create "recovery CD's" that will
only allow me to rewrite the C: drive to it's original manufactured condition
(yuck).

Any ideas on what's happened and how to get going again?

Wheee ...I'm up 'n running.

After deleting the printer, I deleted the printer driver
System, Printers & Faxes, File Menu, Server Properties, Driver, Remove

After connecting the laptop directly to the printer, everything worked great.
Went back to trying to use the shared printer via my desktop, got the same
error.

Repeated the above steps, laptop works with directly connected printer.

Deleted printer on desktop, then deleted driver on desktop. Ran antivirus
programs and antispyware programs on desktop, then reconnected printer to
desktop and reshared it.

Added shared printer to laptop, and everythings backto normal.

Somehow, the shared printer driver on the desktop got corrupted.
