I just got the upgrade from ME to XP this past weekend. I have a home
business and send all my products via the US post office. Through the US post
office website I generate all my mailing labels and postage. The Java Plug-In
from Sun Microsystems is required to be able to generate the mailing labels
online. When I try to create a label I get that security bar up top. I do
click on it and choose "Install Active X Control" but I keep getting the
following error message, "The installer cannot proceed with the current
Internet Connection proxy settings. Please check the Installation Notes for
more information." Afterwards my PC kept freezing up after 2 minutes of use.

Is there anyway to get around this so that I can install the plug-in?

TIA!
L

Btw, I did go into my IE browser's "Internet Options/Security/Custom Level"
and "enabled" the "Auto prompting for ActiveX Controls" as well as the "Auto
prompting for downloads" features with still no success. I sitll get the same
error message.

Am I missing anything else?

TIA!

Wow, thanks so much Will!

I went to the the 'manual URL' and installed manually and offline and this
did the trick! Originally I installed online through the USPS website and
kept getting the errors.

Thanks again!
