Post subject: Live OneCare Quarantine Failed

I have a user on Windows Vista that Live OncCare is reporting quarantine
failed on 'Worm:Win32/Mydoom.O@mm" and "Virus:VBS/Bagle.Z.dr"

When I click on eitherNo information is provided at the website I'm
redirected to.

I've researched the first one doing a google search for it. Articles refer
to java.exe and services.exe being in the windows root directory. Neither of
these exist, nor do the registry entries referenced in these articles.

Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have any suggestions on finding if
the PC is truely infected with either of these and if so how to remove them.

You can try the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. You can get it from
Microsoft update. http://update.microsoft.com

Installed Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and ran a full scan.
Nothing found.

The LiveOneCare antivirus is not recommended. Since you think the
computer is infected (or wish to be sure it isn't), run through the
formal scanning procedures outlined here:

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to
do all scans in Safe Mode (information at site above).

Recommended antivirus programs are NOD32, Kasperksy, or Avast if you
want a free one. The built-in Windows Firewall is adequate for most people.

I recommend that you stop using Windows Live OneCare. I recommend AVG
Anti-virus free edition where you won't be nagged at for $ when you
subscription ends. If you want something better, you can get AVG Anti-virus
Professional Edition or AVG Internet security for all rounded protection.
AVG allows you to purchase subscription for 2 years instead of other
anti-virus solutions which only allows you to buy 1-year subscriptions.
