Im the owner of a Dell computer and i was just wondering if anyone could tell
me how i would find information about logging onto my system as the
administrator. I go to the login screen by pressing ctrl-alt-del when im at
the welcome screen, but in order to log on as the system administrator, i
need to enter a password. However i cannot find any documentation in my
computer manual about any password info. Can anyone tell me how i would go
about finding such information?

So what does Dell say about how they setup their computers regarding
what passwords they specify by default in new installations? Have you
tried using a blank password (i.e., no password has yet been specified)?
If you are logging under an administrator-level account, you can change
the password for any account (so you'll then know what it is).

I have a Dell and use XP Home.
While you are restarting your amchine press the F8 key to get the "Boot
Mode" menu. Choose "Safe Mode". Once you get to the Log in screen log in as
administrator with no password. This will allow you to reset forgotten local
admin/users passwords.

If you own login has administrator privileges then you can change the
password for ANY account, including the password for another
administrator account.
