Post subject: Monitor Resolution Problem

Question I have a second computer-Dell 2350 with Windows XP Home-and have hooked a Dell 15" LCD monitor to it. I can't get the resolution set correctly. I have tried all the standard things and I can't get the bar to slide where I can get the resolution right. Everything is way too big. I have come to the conclusion that it may be the video card. It may not be compatible with the monitor. I don't know what the card is as I am not going to tear the computer apart. Can anyone of you computer whizzes help me out. It is no biggie if I need to purchase another video card. I am not a hardcore gamer and only use the computer for e-mail, surfing and the simple online games. Suggestions of what kind of card I need would also be helpful. I realize that this has probably been covered numerous times before but I couldn't find any answers. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Sad

Is it a seperate video card ? If so, windows may not have installed the best driver for it. If you know the make, you could try to download the drivers for it, from the manufacturer's website.

** Oh yes, nearly forgot to say, to identify the video card, you could use Everest Home Edition.
