Post subject: My Network Places do not display all computers

I have had my network of a laptop and desktop up and running well for over a year. Suddenly, neither computer will display computers on the network. I tried to restore each computer to a time I knew all was working well, but could not restore from the laptop.

I did get the desktop to display the laptop under "my network places" but I still cannot do the same on the laptop.

I've checked all I know to check, to no avail.

I'm sure it's something obvious to someone.

Please share.

Thanks.

You need a WINS server for that to work reliably. I'm sure you are not prepered to undertake this, so i recommend you use the computers IP addresses to connect to each other.
