I'm aware that using option for folders I can change the way a group of
folders opens. Is it possible to have say one folder like MY pictures
say in folder view & have say My Music open in detail view?

Thanks in advance

Hello The......

Yes its possible. There is a setting in explorers Folder Options. To change
it do the following.

Run explorer
Select the "Tools" Menu, and then the "Folder Options" menu item.
This loads a dialog window, click on the "View" Tab.
In the "Advanced Settings" Listbox, scroll down until you see the tick box
with the
label "Remember each folders view settings" and click the tick box so there
is a tick in it.
Press the "OK" button.

Now when you change the View on any folder Windows should remember what you
set it to.

Regards
Chris
