I have WinXP Media Center on a Sony Computer(VCG-RB62G). When I run SFC
/Scannow, I get the insert WinXP Pro CD2 message. I have read all of the
posts and articles about SFC. I have a restore CD that came with the Sony
computer, not a separate Win XP CD.I copied I386 from a WinXP Home and copied
it to my C:\ drive. I tried to change the SourcePath to C:\ in the
registry, but I still get the insert Win Pro CD2 message. Is there any thing
else I could do?

If you know what software was used to create the Recovery disk image, then
you can extract the i386 folder from it using appropriate software.

Hi John - See here :

scannow sfc (sfc.exe)
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

You may need to set two entries in the Registry. Also, the path you use to
the i386 folder needs to stop one level short of the i386 folder itself -
for example, if the actual location you saved the i386 info to were
C:\Install\i386 , then you would need to use C:\Install\ as the
entries in the Registry.
