Post subject: Server terminated connection???
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

Two days ago, when attempting to check email on my computer ( IE ver.
6.0.2; outlook express), my emails stopped loading at the count of 20;
not going to the total amount of 52. Today that count is over 100 and
it still stops at 20; with the date of those emails 2 days before.
Message says *your server has unexpectedly terminated connection*
with *possible causes* being *network problem*,*server problem* and
*long periods of inactivity*. I am not on a network and I check email
various times thoughout the day, therefore not inactivity.
I would appreciate any information or guidance on how to get my
email going properly again.
Thanks a lot,
Ron (ront2@cox.net)

I suggest you post to an outlook express newsgroup.

You probably have an email with a large attachment that is not
downloading fast enough to keep OE from timing out. The best bet is to
access your email account via an online mail program (which your isp may
provide) and delete the offending email. Upon doing that, oe should then
download all of your mail properly. Post back if the problem persists.

Please post this to the Outlook Express newsgroups.

Meanwhile you can try OE\Tools\Accounts\Mail\Properties\Advanced and set the Server Timeouts up to 5 minutes
