Hi. I bought a new HDD for my PC and transfered the complete image of my old
HDD across to my new HDD using an appropriate utility.

I then made the old HDD slave and the new HDD Master.

All is well apart from one glitch. The slave HDD (old one) will not show up
in WinXP. In BIOS it is ok and I find that in Device manager it shows up.
Also if I uninstall the drive via device manager and then search for new
hardware all comes good.

In event viewer I get a LDMS error event 3023 every time I restart the PC,
with the description: The Logical Disk Manager Service failed while
registering for device handle notifications on device \\?
storage#volume#1&30a96598&0&signature647c4d41offset7e00lengthdf9760400#{53f5630d-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}. Win32 Error: 2.

I have tried many differant solutions to no avail. Any ideas out there... is
there a way to try and repair the LDM?

Thanks in advance...
