Last summer i was doing a massive av presentation for school. it was massive,
and as a result, i virtually maxed out my pc's ram. during this time i
installed a PCI 1394 Firewire host adapter card from comp-usa and a Verto
GeForce FX 5200PCI from PNY TECH, and Defraged my hard drive many times. Now,
my computer is messed. it runs wicked slow, and it is only 1.5 years old.
could the cards be the problem. if so, can i remove them and store them and
still be able to re-install them (will they degrade if removed). also, does
anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix it...
thanks,

Chris c

Are you saying you installed a new video card..? Did you disable the onboard
video..? (If your rig has it.)

A more likely cause of that slowdown is add ware/spy ware and/or
viruses. If you do not have them, download "Ad-Aware SE Personal
edition" [http://www.lavasoft.com/] AND "Spybot, Search and Destroy"
[http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html] which are free
.. After you install them, immediately update them and then scan your
system. After that, fully update your Anti-Virus Program [I hope you
have one] and immediately scan your system.
