My computer at work just started showing the day of the week on the second
line instead of the date. I don't want the day of the week. I need the date
and I don't want three lines in my task bar. My computer at home shows the
time and date. I seem to remember there is a place where you can tell it what
to show. How do I change it so it matches my computer at home?

Unlock the taskbar. Position the cursor at the top of the taskbar so that
the double arrows are showing. Drag the taskbar down until it is a single
row and lock the taskbar.

When I do that, only the time shows.

I do not believe the taskbar time+date option you describe is available as
Windows XP comes from MS. Is it possible that you previously installed a
"free" version of "AlfaClock"? It is configurable in this fashion. These
free versions have an expiration date. See
http://www.alfasoftweb.com/alfaclock/.
