When I click start, and then click the Task Manager nothing happens. When i
try the same for Run, nothing happens. I tried accessing taskmgr.exe from the
System32 folder and i get a popup saying that another application is
currently using this.
What does this mean? How can i solve this?

It's probably some type of malware blocking its access. What virus and
spyware protection are you running? Can the software be set to do a
boot scan? These are run before the malware can take control and turn
off your protection.

Hi DB,
Thanks for the help. I checked the same in Safe Mode and it works just fine
there. The Explorer and Task Manager show up just fine in Safe Mode, but
nothing happens in Normal Mode. What do I do now? What seems to be the
problem?

Thanks for your help.
