Tried to upgrade from 98SE > ran upgrade advisor first, found no issues that
would prevent process, however
it said modem might need new files, and the same with the audio driver. I
uninstalled both to play it safe > Disabled
anti-virus bootup scanner > copied I386 folder to the C: drive and ran
install from there > after XP copies some files
then finally wants to reboot, goes to a black screen that reads, "Windows
Setup" press F6 to install SCSI and...
I don't need to install these drivers so I do nothing, this messages
disappears, and setup goes no further

My system is AMD 900mhz with 512MB

Thanks
Richard

Found my own answer, thanks to the help of The Elder Geek on Windows XP,
great site
I disabled the onboard LAN and sound card in the BIOS installed XP, then
re-enabled them
