Post subject: User Accounts Question
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

I want to set up a user account for my 8 year old with only his programs
available. I have the admin account and I created a Limited account for him
but everything is still available to his account.

Is it possible to disable Control Panel, Run, Search etc from the Sart menu?
As well as Norton and other programs from the START menu?

On our last computer he got into the file manager (I left it open) and
dragged the Windows Folder into another folder....you can imagine the
results....

Thanks

If you have XP Pro, you can do this with Group Policy Editor (Start>Run
gpedit.msc [enter]). If you have XP Home, MVP Doug Knox has written a
utility that can help you do what you want. Get Doug's XP Security
Console from his website: <a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://www.dougknox.com." target="_blank">http://www.dougknox.com.</a>
