Post subject: Win Xp Pro SP2 Crash
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

Hi all,
My PC Crashed for no apparent reason except at the time I was playing a game
called 'Call Of Duty 2'. My PC has crashed before at intermittant times
mainly when I was online.

However I was hoping that someone can let me know what this error means
regarding the Crash? I got the info from the Administration Tools, Component
Services, 'Event Viewer (local)' System and it read as follows:-

Details
Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 7016
Source: Service Control Manager
Version: 5.0
Component: System Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_BAD_SERVICE_STATE
Message: The %1 service has reported an invalid current state %2.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me an insight into the meaning of
this error?

Regards
Gerryw
