OK, The problem
Whenever I try to access folder with all my music files and movies in them I
get the error message above. This is isolated only to this folder, every
other part of windows explorer works fine. However sporadically I am
sometimes allowed into the folder and thus have been trying to remove as many
music / movies files I can into a new working folder. However recently I
can’t get in at all.
However I also get an error message when windows media player is open for
about 5 minutes. I am guessing here but probably because it is linked to this
problematic folder
Failed Solutions tried for WMP 11
Rolling back to WMP9 and reinstalling
Just rolling Back
New sound drivers
Getting rid of Nero
Failed Solutions tried for Windows explorer
Running Norton windocter , which finds windows problems
Running Norton Disk Docter, which finds disk problems
Solution trying to implement at the moment
I had most of my music movies back up, so I am trying to just remove this
folder gigs worth of information and just reinstall my backup onto the
computer, however every time I try to put it into the trash I get the error
message, I can’t even hover the mouse over the top of the file without the
error message coming up. So I guess I need a solution to get rid of a
corrupted folder
After I have removed that corrupted file I would then wipe my WMP library
and hopefully the problem will be fixed, I hope.
Sorry if this is a bit long but I guess the more information for you guys
the easier it is to understand the problem

Ok, so i have used the Command Prompt to try and delete the file
i went to the directory folder and typed
Rmdir folder
however i get an message that says "access is denied"
We only have one account on the computer and we are administrator. Or am i
getting this message for a different reason?
On this failing i was interested to see if i could delete a single file so i
manually deleted some files in one of the sub folders of this initial folder
using the typed command
Del filename.txt
And this worked, but i have too many files to do this for the whole space.

You can press Ctrl/A to select all files, press Delete, it'll stop at a
file that's running, or otherwise protected. Select all from the next
file down with a click, shift-click on the last file, and try the delete
again.
All the files might be deletable in Safe Mode.
