Windows Live Messenger and Java

Help please!!! I am running Windows XP and have downloaded Windows Live
Messenger. Now I am unable to play games and get error messages like "The
Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded" I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Java but nothing is working. The only way Java will work is if I
uninstall Windows Live Messenger. HELP....I'm getting a web cam soon to be
able to see my new grandson and this is killing me.
