Post subject: Windows SErver Firewall?

My brother has put up a seperate computer and installed Windows Server on it
and wants to run his own domain from that server - what type of firewall
should he have running?? If you need more info on hardware/software, please
let me know as I'm lost on this - and HE should know what he's doing, he
actually programs software for the gov....geeezz.....anyway, thanks for any
help in this direction

LOL yep, that's what I told him - from what I can gather - he wants to put
up a website on 'his' server and allow other people to view it ... why he
can't find this info out for himself is beyond me - guess he thinks I have
nothing to do -

Unless he is using a business grade internet connection, most home grade
service will not normally permit servers.

Perhaps consider Apache over IIS, and reduce the risk of been hacked.

Why should he be expected to know everything about computers
because he is a programmer? That's like expecting a
cellphone user to knwo about the phone network because he
sends messages over it.

Most programmers have very little knowledge of computers.
