Windows XP Home Edition Will Only Load In Safe Mode

When I try the normal loading it just sits on that black screen that says windows XP and has the blue line moving. The blue screen before it says Windows is loading my settings. System Restore does nothing. It has always worked in the past for other errors. I tried the recovery console thing but haven't a clue what to do with that. It just sits on that black screen after the point when the keyboard lights flash and then the blue screen always comes on as my monitor clicks. Any ideas what the deal is here. Everything was fine and then I turn the computer on and Windows won't load normally?
