I am running a new Dell tower, I can not get MSN Messenger to run, I keep
getting error 8100038d which I can not find defined on the MSN site, any
suggestions would be helpful, I managed to get the older version off of here
with help from this board here, thanks for all help in advance.

Hi. Faced with same problem. Tried cleaning registry, anti-virus checks etc not worked. But at last I found solution. Hope works for you too.

- Download and install msn messenger 6.2 after uninstalling 7.0
- Login with 6.2. It will say that you need to upgrade your msn.
- Now download manually msn 7.0 and install.

Problem should be solved. One important point is I needed to repeat same procedure for different users but it solves at the end Wink

Ps. Thanks to my friend Taner Tas who offers using old version. Smile
Ps2. I think problem is caused because of a corrupted file. Maybe installation program does not overwrite files having same date time stamp. Installing old version causes downgrading file versions so new installation solves the problem.

Also again thanks go to angel Aysegul for causing these challenging errors... Wink Very Happy

My sincerely to all...
