Post subject: distribute updates to non administrators and install them

Hey whizkids.

I've got a question.
I work at a company, where we work on computers with XP Pro.
Now I update the pc's by hand because all my coworkers are logged in as users, so they cannot harm the system.

Is there a way to send the updates to their system so that they are installed automaticly, even if they are logged in as user ??
Or can I distribute them, so they are installed after a reboot for example.

What's the best way to handle this ????

Have a look here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/updateservices/downloads/WSUS.mspx

Or, just enable Automatic Updates and they will get the updates from
Microsoft's servers.

If you need more flexibility and features, there is System Management
Server: http://www.microsoft.com/smserver/default.mspx

Dear Colin,

I have the automatic updates enabled, but the user cannot install them due to their userrights.
Is there an option to let them install only updates, and not other programs ?

What's the best free manner to update all computers without loggin in as an Administrator (or is this not even possible) ?

If the users are not administrators you need to set it to automatically
download *and install* the updates. You cannot use the option to "download
and prompt me to install" for users that aren't administrators (only admins
will see this prompt whenever they log in; regular users will not see it.)

Hope this helps...
