In the Windows folder there are numerous entries-- put there after
I upgraded last year to XP from 98SE.
They start with the folder- $hf_mig$, and $MSI31uninstallKB893803v2$
and
after that there are all the folders starting with Uninstall (sub
folder spunist or similar).

Can I delete all these folders now? If they are needed to revert back
to 98SE...........I don't ever intend to do that.

They are just taking up space.

Many thanks for any ideas\help.

These folders and associated files in these folders are safe to remove,
most like one of these files (can't remember which) is also required to
revert back to Win98 so...
once deleted you will no longer be able to un-install a patch or update that
was associated with the deleted folder/files.
As a safety net I would burn these folders to a CD or DVD before deleting
them.

Warning: One folder you should not delete is: $hf_mig$
