Live messenger -

MS Messenger vs Live Messenger - I've been asked to install the new Messenger by a user, however, I'm concerned with the performance impact to our system. IS the Live Messenger better or worst than MS Messenger on using system resources? I'm reluctant to install. Thanks

Live Messenger needs IE? - trying to get into Live messenger (8.5 beta) it tells me that as Internet Explorer is set to off-line i cant sign in. So it IE a requirement to have/use Messenger? Currently i have no need (as far as i know) to have IE online
