For the past week I am getting "memory could not be written" error messages.

Am runing WinXP Pro on a two year old Dell.

I've gotten two blue screens... seemingly related. But in most instances...
I simply receive the MCNBW message... click OK... and a program I'm using
closes. Often I have to reboot at this point. Everything works fine for
awhile... then bang... another MCNBW pop up appears and I usually have to
reboot to regain full functionality.

The program that seems to crash most often when this message occurs is IE
Explorer... but it's isn't IE all the time.

I've Googled "memory could not be written"... and see that others get the
same message... but no obvious solution or diagnostic test.

I ran chkdsk... and the MS memory diagnostic program. They did not turn up
anything.

www.memtest.org has I believe a more comprehensive test utility. Run it for
several hours
