Each time the pc updates itself, or I do it manually and
after each successfull installation of SP2, I cannot get
back on the NET. I thought my internet connection was bad
but after calling my ISP, my broadband internet provider,
all systems were ok. I reset my internet options to
default settings, looked at the firewall and set it to
excempt all (what's the use of a firewall if I excempt
all?) I eventually uninstalled SP2 and got back on the
net with no problems. What can I do?

Who is your ISP? SBC warned me before XP SP2 was released that there may be
compatibility issues and sent me a link to update everything after install.

just a local broadband internet company here in the
phil., anyway I'm not installing SP2 until microsoft does
something about it. Seems like the firewall they made
protected the pc from ever connecting from the net.Sad
