I need to change domain name for my windows2000 server. Of course, I
have to re-setup AD, etc.
The problem is, if I change it, all users from client computer have to
log in to the new domain with new user account, and all their old
files, such as outlook, my documents, my pictures, etc. are gone.
What can I do to rename the user's accounts to keep their original
files and configuration on their own client computer?
Thank you very much.

Richie.

You can install Win2k server on a different machine, run dcpromo with the
desired domain name, create a trust between the domains, and use the Active
Directory Migration tool to migrate all the computers and user accounts to
the new domain.
This works pretty slick and migrates the user profiles and everything. The
only issue you may have is, since you have to create a trust, the NetBIOS
domain name must be changed too.
