When watching a DVD via windvd (choosing the 'DVD from Folder' option), the
video seems to "shift" 3 times. Each shift alters the picture just slightly.
One shift is clear, another is grainier, and the 3rd is fuzzier than the
2nd. After the 3rd fuzzy shift, the cycle repeats. Each shift is about 1
second long.

I've tried messing with the Video functions w/in WinDVD's Setup but nothing
helps. The shifting is still there. So, I'm not sure if this is a player
problem or a disc problem (the latter happens on SOME burned DVD's but not
all). While I've tried to find answers here in the group, I've come up
short-handed. Are there any other dvd apps that I could d/l and try to help
determine if the problem is the disc or the player?

And help or advice?

Thanks!
Greg

As you have WinDVD then you should have the codecs/decoder installed and
should be able to open a DVD with Windows Media Player? If not then there's
any one of a number located (free of course) at
www.snapfiles.com/freeware/freeware.html (typed from memory so you might
need to remove the rest and then click down to the freeware section).
