Post subject: Group Policy not updating on Win2K Pro desktop
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>group_policy (more info?)

I have a Windows 2003 AD Domain and have a few policies enabled. In the past
there was a policy set that allowed only domain admins to shut down the
computers. I have disabled that policy a while back and it has been working
OK for most Win2K computers and all XP computers. But now I am finding a few
computers (Win2K only) here and there that will not allow the end user to
shut down. I have double checked the default domain policy and everything I
can in GP Admin Console. I have ran the secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy
/enforce adn the user_policy /enforce and rebooted many times but I still
cannot get the end users to shut down the PC. The only option they have is to
log off. Is there another way to force the new policies onto the PC's in
question?

Hello Chad,

Run gpresult or rsop on the client to see if the policy is applied.
