My secondary system is still running on Win95. Yesterday at startup, it said
to insert a bootable media in the appropriate drive. I did that, using my
up-to-date system startup disk. At A:/ prompt, I changed to C: drive, but
got the message to insert disk 2 into cd-rom drive. The Command.exe works
fine because I succeeded in doing a scandisk /all /surface scan with no
errors or corrrupt files fouond. When I typed in sys c: and sys.com, I got
back a message to insert disk 2 into drive A:/.
Problem: My system came pre-installed with Win95----so, is there any other
DOS command that will restore windows to desktop?

What is your system star up disk?
is that made with windows 95?

anyway check things below.

1. check with bootable antivirus software CD or disk.
2. check your BIOS settings, make sure bios recognize drive correctry and it bootable.
3. check with fdisk, make sure drive is active and also check partition info.

Thx for your help.
The start up floppy disk is OEM from Microsoft for win95/98. It worked fine
on another one of my PC's running Win98se in the past.
1. I will try using my Norton antivirus disk on it, when I have extra time.
2. How, exactly, do I check the BIOS? What DOS command do I use, plz.
3. I did try FDISK, but message returned saying there were no disks
available! Odd, eh?

You need check your BIOS.
It is not Dos Command.
BIOS is basic input/output system.
see URL below for detailed info for what is BIOS.

http://www.wimsbios.com/

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/B/BIOS.html

http://www.bioscentral.com/

anyway you need get into BIOS settings screen,
but it that method are depends on Motherboard and BIOS maker.

post your mother board maker and model
or PC maker and model.
