I recently upgraded to IE 7. As a general rule it is working fine but for one
irritating little glitch.

It will not allow me to change my desktop icons from the traditional IE
'e' with my personal desktop icons.

I have gone through the Right Click, Change Icon, and browsed to my icons,
selected the icon then applied it and OK's out. But, the 'e' icon dominates
and will not allow the change to take place.

Any suggestions from the forum on a remedy?

I apologize . . . I think this is in the wrong group. I have reposted it in
IE 6 which still is not completely correct either.

I see in http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/default.mspx that
the recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If you must use a web interface:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=...rosoft.

I have the same problem that Dick does. Can you help me find an answer?

What problem?
In any event, please post in the same place as Dick was advised or
read the answers there to his problem (though it is nearly two years
old now)
