I have created a IEAK7 flat deployment file that is deployed in SMS with no
user intervention, the issue I have is if a machine has IE7 already installed

on it, the package will uninstall 7 and version 6 will be installed. I
would like to force over the installation with the current package even if it
is running

version 7.

Thanks Steve

Steve,

We have noticed the same thing. We re-deployed our IEAK7 package to some
testers who were then unceremoniously reverted back to version 6. The other
issue is if you then do the deployment again, we seemed to be missing all of
the setting changes we made - it was IE7 out of the box.

Very frustrating to say the least.

Very fraustrating with this whole package, to get around the reinstallation,
I created a vbscript (WMI) that does a check on the version first on the
computer first. We discovered other problems that IEAK7 creates on
workstations and we no longer are willing to deploy with the kit, we are
going with GPO policy even thought we lose some functionality.
