Post subject: Monitor Problem
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsme>hardware (more info?)

When I plug in power cable a message appears "connect data cable" (or
somewhat like that) but after i plug data cable the screen is totally black
nothing happens only power lit is on.

whats wrong? Is it a big problem and need bulk of money to repair?

You should plug in the data cable before plugging in the data cable. No
matter, you now have both cables attached, right? Turn the monitor off, then
back on again, or unplug the power and then plug it back in again, then
start or restart the computer. What happens?

plug in data cable before plugging in the POWER cable. right?
right, I did exactaly that, But no luck.

Well, your monitor could be bad, or your computer could be bad. I'd try
another, borrowed monitor on the machine to see that it functions properly.
Or test the monitor on a different machine.
