Post subject: Moving Desktop Items

Hello!
I just reinstalled Windows Me Operating System, and for some reason, I am no longer able to relocate the desktop icons. Does someone know how to reconfigure something so I can move them where I want to, without them going back to this initial desktop format on the left side of computer screen? Thanks!!!
