Nothing special. If it is working now it should survive the upgrade.

Danny is right -- only exceptions are likely REALLY old hardware or
some bizarre device that has no W2K3 driver but there really isn't
much of this stuff, especially if you upgrade the BIOS on your older
machines. (Talking circa 2000-2001, Pentium 3-4 500 Mhz or slower.)

These machines usually even work.

In addition, it would help the upgrade if he turns off and disables
auto-startup for any antivirus, antispam, security centers, and firewalls
before running running the upgrade.

To add, disable any third party hardware, such as printers, LPT boards,
serial boards, phone modems, game units, USB devices, etc, prior to the
upgrade. If you have a RAID SCSI device, such as a Dell PERC, make sure you
have the 2003 drivers so you can supply them by hitting F6 at the beginning
of the installation upon restart when it's loading drivers.
